14. Random Useful ThingS
There are some things I bought during chemo that made life easier for me. It’s a useful list to have on hand.
Masks - they are your best friends. Get some good ones and always have it with you.
Gloves - the oral meds are cytotoxic so I use gloves whenever I take my meds. Yes, it is too toxic to take with your hands but you are taking it into your body. :D I always thought this was very ironic.
Temperature-controlled, Filtered Water Dispenser - It feels like you are taking meds all the time and they need to be taken with warm temperature. If you are sensitive to cold, even swallowing at room temperature is uncomfortable, especially in Week 1. My water dispenser allows me to have 40-50 degrees celsius water when I need my meds. It just saves time from constantly having to boil water. I bought mine online for <$200.
Constant supply of good protein in the freezer - I cooked a lot so having these on hand make sure that I always have healthy options. These include eggs, tofu, salmon, codfish, chicken breast.
