9. Diet
In Week 1 of each cycle, I am a huge believer of eat whatever my body is willing to eat and I have the energy for. In Weeks 2 & 3, I could pretty much take most things (except for really oily food).
Tastebuds also change through the cycles so experiment and see what works for you.
Kaya making workshop!
These are the foods that work well for me.
Dashi broth / Miso soup - these are readily available and just add tofu, fish and vegetables to make it a healthy meal.
Sourdough Toast & Eggs - breakfast tends to be the meal that I have energy for. Hard boiled eggs and scrambled eggs work well.
Proteins - Salmon, codfish, organic chicken fillet, lean red meat
Cream Crackers - with cream cheese or peanut butter
Milo - no reason. It’s just great recovery food post-surgery and during weak chemo weeks.
Water - chemo meds change the taste of water so I just didn’t feel like drinking. But I have to. Adding a tiny amount of manuka honey helps.
Watermelon - My TCM physician said that it helps some of his patients tolerate the chemo sessions better so I tried. It works! :) Read more about it here.
Except for what my doctors tell me I absolutely cannot eat (mostly because of food poisoning concerns), I ignore what everyone else says.
I already have too many things to worry about.
