1. Where It All began…

I went in for my first colonoscopy on Friday, March 14, 2025. The procedure was scheduled for 2 pm. There are some days that just get inked in your head and does not go away. This was destined to be one of those days…

It’s a little surreal waking up from a colonoscopy, while you’re still groggy and seeing your gastroenterologist standing in front of you. He was waiting for me to wake up. The first words he said was “I saw something and it does not look good. I am going to ask them to squeeze you in for a CT scan immediately.” That was 4 pm.

Tried rug tufting during the good weeks and really love it!

The staff at Mount Elizabeth Novena was really good. I remember the little acts of kindness…I couldn’t finish my bottle of oral contrast and felt really nauseous. The nurse just asked me to take my time. She chased the male technicians out of the room so she could prepare me for the scan. I didn’t get her name but I remembered how reassuring and competent she was.

The results came back on Tuesday, March 18. I met 4 specialists in 3 days. One gastroenterologist, two colorectal surgeons and my gynaecologist. One of the surgeon thought it may have spread to my ovaries and rushed me in for a MRI scan. Thankfully, it didn’t.
